Saturday saw the start of golfing back at St Enodoc after the second lockdown. It should have been the annual Turkey Trot, but as with most things this year the pandemic put paid to that! So, just to jazz things up a bit the Captain and his cohorts decided to stage the American Foursomes aka Pinehurst/Chapman. An interesting combination played on a tough day plagued early on by the wind and the rain, but it did eventually improve and some decent scores along with it. It was a good turn out with forty five pairs entered and it would seem lady luck was on Dennis Brown's side in the form of Kira Barnes. The pair lead the way with a fine score of 40 pts with Kevin Cornford & Dan Witts a close second on 38 pts. It was a fight for third with three teams on 37pts. Neil Childs & Tom Wills squeezing in on countback with John Carhart & Dennis Lemarchand and Adrian Halling & Richard Helleur in fourth and fifth places respectively. In sixth and seventh place both on 36pts was Andy Beare & Danny Hoare and Russell Combellack & Nigel Connolly. Paul Clemens & Stuart Fleet made it into the prizes with 35pts.
Full competition results are on the club noticeboard.
Saturday's competition is the Monte Carlo Deluxe
