The Junior Academy side 'edged' their way into the quarter final stage of this year's Bolitho Shield. The team took on a strong Carlyon Bay side, who are the defending champions, at St Enodoc on Saturday 20th July. The side, having to play without a couple of their established players, was led by Sam Jarvis.
Sam played at number one taking on County player Josh Small, it was a very close tussle with Josh winning on the 18th. Unfortunately Joe Combellack lost his match on the 17th (2&1) to George Linekar. Sam McCloskey 'steadied the ship' by winning his match on the 18th(1up) against Jack Stone. Dan Pooley, in another close match, also won by the same margin on the 18th. against Eugenie Knight. Debutant Harry Meek halved his match against Josh Thomas, again on the 18th. Nick Hirst secured a home victory, closing his match out 4&3 against Danny Street. So overall we go through 3 ½ to 2 ½.
