Our seniors continued their winning run despite conditions so different from what they are used to. Slip, slap, slop was the order of the day and wide brimmed hats were seen in abundance. Some even brought their shorts (and legs) out of winter storage although shins and the backs of knees may wish they had not tomorrow.
Captain of the day, Paul Godfrey, decided that with such a strong team he could take time out to play with his shiny new toy, a brand new tractor. Some suggested it was his own special way of dealing with the rough, which he visits regularly.
The team performed admirably in Paul’s absence and ran out the winners by 6 ½ to 1 ½. The return match in two weeks time is likely to prove to be more of a challenge but as always we look forward with great anticipation
