It has been a busy week for the St Enodoc Ladies with a Stableford Competition on Tuesday, a League Match at Mullion on Friday and another round of the Mail On Sunday on Saturday.
There was a good turnout for the Stableford Competition which was held on one of the few drier days this week. In Division One on the Church Course Janine Clagett scored 33 points to win and cut her handicap to 19. Barbara Willmott and Penny Cartwright both came in with 31 points with Barbara coming second on countback. However, Penny was not too disappointed as she had a hole-in-one on the fifth hole giving her good cause to celebrate! In Division 2 Gloria Crouch won with a very respectable 35 points and cut her handicap to 22. Pat Parry was in second place with 33 points resulting in a cut to 27. In third was Sue Floyd Jones with 31 points.
Once again on the Holywell Course there was some high scoring with Carol Carter taking first place with 38 points and cutting her handicap to 23. In second and third were Annabell Woolcott and Mary Killingley on 37 points with Annabell coming second on countback.
After halving our first league match away at Newquay, we travelled to Mullion with the hope of at least repeating this score on Friday. We played in some very benign conditions but, despite many matches going to the 17th hole, we lost by 6 games to 1. Bobbie Rounsevell had a resounding victory, winning her match 6 & 5.
Finally three St Enodoc Ladies have been selected for the county A Team squad to play Devon at Trevose on Sunday. They are Katie Rule, Sarah Sanderson and Bev Vann.
