Another wet and wild day at St Enodoc on Saturday. Most of the early bird players decided to stay and drink coffee rather than fight the South Easterly gusts, but as the weather improved the teams of 3 did start to pull on their wet weather gear, after worling out their 10% combined handicaps.
In a Texas Scramble all players tee off and then select one of their drives. All players again play the second shot from the selected position and so on. The only proviso is that each team must use 4 drives from each player in their team.
Tris Lang, Phil Hoare and Shaun Beare teamed up to win the competition with net 63.8, well ahead of their rivals with 4 birdies and 10 pars in total. In second place with a net 66 Keith Thompson, Rod Frost and John Carhart beat the 3rd place team by just 0.1. Josh Greenaway, Kevin Brenton and Rob Cook scored a net 66.
In 4th place with 66.7 net taking the final prize were Andy Beare, Kevin Parker and Andy Golding.
