It was another good turn out for this weeks competition with twenty eight teams entered. It was a Texas Scramble format with a combined handicap allowance of ten percent, so it was definitely going to sort the men from boys!
Team 'Buse' which consisted of Josh Greenaway, Andy Bunt & Mike Buse, bagged first place with a magnificent score of 60.9! As Niblick is led to believe Mike 'was putting like a god' to quote his team mate and they had the score card to back it up. It was a good combination of Mike's experience, Josh's youth and course management skills and Andy's commentary. Only one bogey blighted the whole round, but just to prove a point there were five birdies and four par's on the back nine. We can only hope Mike has saved some of his good shots for his trip to Portugal!
The closest team who were almost a whole point behind was that of Matt Robins and father and son Paul & Tom Hughes with a very respectible 61.7. Again, an almost perfect card bar one bogey, but birdies on the 1st, 9th & 11th helped them in to second place. James Hutchings, Andy Griffiths & Danny Hoare just sneaked into third place with 62.5 ahead of Shaun Beare, John Rowe & Tris Lang on 62.9. Prizes this week went to sixth place with Andy Beare and team mates Nigel Ahearn & Andy Golding placed fifth with 63.2 and Rob Cook, Russell Combellack & Mark Meneer with 63.7.
