Two years ago, in November 2013, at the quarter final stage of the CTC St Enodoc were drawn against Truro GC at Trevose. In the morning foursomes the team were spanked 4 - 0 and put in a position from which they never recovered despite an excellent showing in the afternoon singles. Today's match was almost a mirror image of that tie except that this time it was St Enodoc who won the morning foursomes 3.5 to 0.5 and with a win in the 9th man match to add another 0.75 points putting the team in a very strong position from which to win the tie.
Morning foursomes:
In the afternoon Captain Steve Chapman led from the front with a big win to increase the team's lead still further. County regular Joe Cruse followed with a chipping masterclass to win easily. Soon however Truro started to eat into the lead and picked up four points in sucessive matches. But St Enodoc were solid at the back and with last man Mark Westlake winning easily Robbie Moore agreed a friendly half as the match was already decided.
Afternoon singles:
Match result St Enodoc 7.75 pts Truro 5 points
