Yesterday - 19th October - at windy Bowood our Bowl team took on our near neighbours \"The Point at Polzeath\" in a Cornwall Bowl 1st round tie. Captain Terry Johns was obliged to make a last minute change to the team when Charles Rayment dropped out with man \'flu; his place being taken by the in form Paul Honey.
Although the score might indicate otherwise this match was tight for a good while; with each St Enodoc pair having to concede shots to their opponents and on a course with four par five holes this can make a difference. None the less Terry\'s Boys hung on and in several cases came from behind to ensure what was eventually a comfortable win by 4 points to 1.
Next up for the team will be Perranporth over the weekend of 8/9th November at a venue to be decided.
The Bowood course was in good order and their welcome to the teams could not be faulted.
