Yet again the weather hampers the Ladies

Published: 20th September 2011, Updated: 26th September 2011

On Tuesday 20th September St Enodoc welcomed ladies from far a wide for their Open Day. Unfortunately, the weather let us down badly with rain that worsened as the day went on and blustery winds. However, the bravehearted ladies left the first tee to play in a 3 Ball Better Ball Competition in the hope that they could overcome the elements. Only 3 teams did not complete the course and some very wet ladies achieved some surprisingly good scores!

The winners were Barbara Murton, Jan Harrison and Micah Carol from Launceston and Perranporth with 70 points, second were Hermione Green, Jacquie Walles and Margaret Bunton from Looe with 66 points and third were Alice Robinson, Stephanie Bristow and Terri Gliddon from Enmore and St Enodoc. Further prizes went to teams from Burnham and Berrow, Newquay, Tavistock/St Enodoc and Tehidy.  There were also prizes for Longest Drive on the 12th Hole, Nearest the Pin on the 5th, Nearest the Pin in 2 on the 9th and Best Front and Back Nine. 8 Ladies also had 2s on various holes.
