Yellow Ball Competiton

Published: 9th November 2015

Saturday certainly did not start as a good day for golf!  The wind and rain were lashing across the course and from the safety of the Clubhouse it was not an inviting sight.   The rain cleared around midday for those who played later but the wind kept blowing, making the Yellow Ball Competition an exhilarating challenge.

Added to the challenging conditions there was also the annual challenge of scoring in this competition!  In teams of 3 each player takes turns to play the ‘yellow ball’ and his score must count for that hole, one of the 2 other scores also counts.

Shaun Beare, Steve Chapman and Keith Searle had the winning combination scoring 73 points.  In second Dan Witts, Ryan Perring and Ken Perring scored 67 points, and Paul Honey, Phil Jory and John Arnold took 3rd place with 65 points.  Nick Williams (despite having to pay a lot of fines) came in 4th with his team mates Steve Buse and Mike Buse with 63 points on countback.
