Valentines Day Greensomes took place on Sunday 12 February - for those playing with spouses should it really be called the Divorce Open? Either way it was played in dry conditions but with a strong and really biting East wind which reduced the Wind Chill factor down below -1c. No question of hot passion on the day what was really required was hot soup. Both courses enjoyed a good number of couples and there was a marked difference between the scores with those on the Church really struggling in the gusty conditions. One past Captain was heard to say that he considered scoring one point on a hole a real bonus!

As you can see the scores were very close on the Church but our two wintering Swedes Stefan & Anne Marie Ebervall, despite only getting to bed at 3.00 am having flown home from a week in Spain, came out on top on count back. On the Holywell things were much more clear cut with Malcolm “I’m giving up golf” & Sue Jones clear winners with a brilliant 43 points.
