This annual gathering, traditionally raises funds for the Captain’s Charity which this year is directed at three clinical trials funded by CRUK at Treliske Hospital, and targeted at areas of breast, bowel and prostate cancer. The day was blessed with largely full sunshine and a welcoming breeze which proved to be the perfect recipe for a most enjoyable and rewarding day.

Through the generosity of Club members and competitors £1,600 was raised by the raffle alone, from which £400 was donated to the Ladies' Captain’s Charity - Active8.  Although the final amount is yet to be finalised, a figure close to £6,000 is estimated to have been collected for the Captain’s Charity.

The winners of the day were the Nalders team of Phil Chapman, Dale Band, Carl Band and Paul Collins with 86 points who won on countback from the Staddon Heights Team 3 of John Holwill, Alex Goody, Phil Aston & Mark Nicholls. In third place with 84 points were Chris Whitmore, Justin Hadley, Dean Wheeldon & Ian Andrews with team name ‘Crash, Bang, Wallop’ - if that refers to their golfing style, it’s evidently effective! Finally in fourth place were the Staddon Heights Team 2 of Keith Rendell, Darren Clarke, Mark Reid & Mark Wood with 83 points.

Other prizes awarded on the day were;
