Seniors post second win of the year

Published: 26th March 2013

The visit of Launceston Seniors on Monday, 25 March resulted in another comfortable win for the Senior Saints who ran out winners  6½  – 1½ .

Apart from a biting easterly wind which tested all the latest winter golf clothing lavished upon creaking grandfathers by doting family members happy to get Grumpy out of the way for the day, it proved a rather uneventful, though most enjoyable and friendly match.

Well almost uneventful …………..... by his own admission, Derek Rushton is the man to buy your lottery ticket this week ! His shot to the 6th green was somewhat wayward. The ball thought it was on a pinball machine as it ricocheted from every available solid feature only to roll down a bank, eventually to finish inches from the hole. He then sank the putt for par. And the description gets more extravagant which each telling !
