Seniors on the Holywell

Published: 24th July 2014

As the Church course was unavailable to the Seniors due to the Ladies' Amateur all congregated for a roll up on 14th July on the Holywell. Thirty players took part so that ten three balls enjoyed really good weather and scoring. The format was stableford – two out of three scores to count.

The winners were John Walker, Mike Maberly and Ian Boyd and who would expect anything else from such a combination! They accumulated 80 points between them; Ian played a blinder contributing 39 points himself on 17 of the holes. Second were David Balmford, Tom Lehan and Frank Harper who managed 79 points and third came Derek Kingsbury, Terry Carter (welcome Terry) and Mike Parry with 76 points.

These Joint Jollies are really enjoyable events and go a long way towards cementing and renewing friendships in the Seniors Section. The next one will be held on 13/10/14 when the Church course will be closed for annual maintenance.
