Seniors News for November 2011

Published: 3rd December 2011, Updated: 5th December 2011

The end of the season’s matches meant a relatively quiet start for the new regime before the onslaught of Christmas-related activities.  On the Church the only competition was the monthly Stableford won by Nigel Thomas with 37 points with David Barber second on 35 and Frank Harper third on 34 (Andrew Ward was really third on count-back, but it has proved impossible to contact him to let him know the good news, thereby rendering the destination of the prize money uncertain).  On the Holywell after the first round of the Eclectic the leader of a strong field is David Miller with John Godwin in second place and Ian McLellan and George Phillips in joint third.  The Holywell Stableford was won in a low turnout by Chris Tanous with 35 points on count-back from George Phillips (coming into form?) with Nigel Gallagher in third place.
In common with other sections of the Club the turnout for the Monday competitions is definitely higher than hitherto, which perhaps suggests that there are more and more of us with time on our hands…
