Rex Machin Salver

Published: 5th September 2016

The weather forecast for Saturday was terrible so we were not expecting a big turnout for the Rex Machin Salver.  In the end just 24 men signed up for the foursomes competition, and the forecast was not wrong, the south westerly was strong and felt cold and the rain kept coming especially through the afternoon.  Not surprisingly no one entered the comp after 11.00 am!

It was the unstoppable force of Richard Hawken and Norman Evans who took first place with 29 points to win the Rex Machin Salver which will be presented later this year.  In second place Richard Lawrence and Malcolm Knight were close behind with 28 points.  Behind them in 3rd place on countback with 26 points Nick Shelley and Ripke DeBoer took 3rd with Joe Tamblyn and Richard Blake finishing in 4th place.
