PGA Cornish Festival - Day2

Published: 20th April 2017

On another lovely spring day for links golf St Enodoc finally surrended, well at least to several Pro's, and a couple of under par rounds were recorded. Niblick was out and about this afternoon and witnessed a little incident which will be all too familiar to the Members of St Enodoc. Standing with his hound on the road by the 5th hole Niblick spotted a very well known Pro (hint hint Midlands origin, big pal of one of our Members) playing his tee shot, just short the ball ended up by the road. Said Pro then chips up to the green, just short, oh dear ball back by his feet again. Third shot is decent and he makes bogey when our Members would probably have signed for a double. And the moral of the story is ? Take enough club on the 5th !

Enough of the gossip - what of our two Pro's ? Mark was today at Carlyon Bay and carded a 1 over par 73 to lie a respectable tied 26th. Antony playing on his home course had a day to forget and we will not embarass him further by mentioning his score or indeed where he lies in the overall scheme of things. However the big news relates to the team scores. Mark's team had a fine day and now lie 6th overall  with a day to go and the chance to go still higher and perhaps qualify for a sleeve of the latest Molitor golf balls. Play well tomorrow you boys - Niblick is watching ! PS: Dont' forget to take your jackets and ties.
