The Seniors continued their good record at Perranporth last Friday when winning the Fred Rothwell Trophy for the third time in the last five years.

Led in splendidly relaxed fashion by Seniors Vice-Captain, Peter Commings, the five pairs averaged 37 points in a better-ball Stableford off three-quarters handicap played in very challenging conditions which, for our first three pairs, included at least nine holes of strong gusting wind and driving rain.

New boys, Nigel Thomas and Kenton Williams, both fully paid-up members of the teaching brigade (where dress-down Friday is clearly de rigeur) acquitted themselves well, and all enjoyed a day very well organised by the Perranporth club.

Are some of the good old boys improperly dressed?
