Tyrrel Sandry receives the Holywell Eclectic Trophy from Club Captain Tony Rounsevell

Holywell Seniors Stableford
The May Stableford was played in dry but very windy conditions and produced only one notable performance.   Ian McLellan scored a very creditable 38pts.   The runners up were David Balmford on 32(CB) and Tom Lehan on 32.

Holywell Eclectic
Following the May stableford, the prizes were presented for the eclectic which had been running through the winter. Tyrrel Sandry and Roy Darnell ran a very close run race, Tyrrel winning out by 1/50th of a point.   Third was John Baxter who charged up the field latterly only playing in three rounds.   Dermott Studd got the most birdies and Nigel Gallagher was congratulated on a magnificent eagle three at the 3rd. Fred Leese improved on one hole by only 6 shots this year; it was 10 shots last year!
An analysis of the returns produced the not surprising statistics that the 15th had been the most difficult hole with the 6th and 14th equal second.  The easiest hole was the 3rd.
Our new Club Captain Tony awarded the prizes and thanked the small contingent present for the importance of the Seniors section to the club.   He was presented with a bottle of wine and a golf ball with which to play when he next represents the Seniors!
