Nearly a winner in Thailand

Published: 12th December 2012

Antony Nash and partner David Wilson from Eaton Golf Club as winners of the U.K. Qualifier of the Joe Lewis International pairs last year enjoyed the trip to Thailand to play the finals at the Chaing Mai Highlands Golf Course. The format was altered to Singles and the opening round went really well despite a late wobble which cost Antony the course record for a tremendous score of 5 under Par 67.

Round 2 started shakily and he fell back towards the field, however a strong finish over the last 12 holes allowed him to pick up 5 shots to give a two round total of 4 under Par. By comparison the final round was a quiet affair with one Bogey and one Birdie for level par. The round had been full of promise on which he was unable to capitalise with some very tough pin positions for the finale. At the end of the day he finished tied second just one shot off the winner who was his former partner David Wilson so the two Trevose qualifiers really excelled themselves.

Antony was not too downhearted at not winning as the real prize was the trip to Thailand and not the trophy for the winner. With the memories now behind him Antony now moves on into the world of Professional golf and we all wish him the very best.
