On Sunday 30th July, a team of eager golfers from St Enodoc travelled to Royal North Devon for this long established mixed friendly fixture.

On arrival, getting clubs out of cars involved split second timing to avoid heavy downpours but the rain ceased and the sun shone brightly as the Ladies’ Captain stepped onto the first tee (that would be Liz Blight from RND not our own Tamsin Blake who has a somewhat erratic relationship with the weather!)

Players enjoyed bright and breezy conditions for the rest of the day as they tackled a variety of challenges on this traditional and unaffected landscape. The matches were finely balanced, all finishing on the 17th or 18th greens and they were played in fine, sporting spirit. Team Captain Bob Cruse thanked everyone at RND for their generous hospitality throughout the day, including an excellent carvery and he also thanked the St Enodoc team for their valiant efforts:

  • Tamsin and Richard Blake
  • Angela and Andy Butler
  • Annie and Bob Cruse
  • Sue Kingston-Frost and Rod Frost
  • Barbara and Paddy Graham
  • Fiona Lunt and Dave Oldham
  • Sue and Kevin Richards
  • Sarah and Stuart Sandercock
  • Trudy and Rodger Tremain
