Monte Carlo Competition

Published: 31st March 2014

This Saturday saw the return of the Monte Carlo Competition.  A Challenge of Golf and Maths!

Played in pairs with stableford points multiplied together to give points for the hole.  It is possible to get some big points for each hole and the scores can vary vastly and swing from good to bad far too easily!  The 7th placed pair can vouch for that with 42 points for the front nine followed by just 19 coming home!

The top two pairs both scored 64 points in total, with Julian Darnell and Roger Tremain taking the winning spot on countback thanks to their consistency over all 18 holes.  Mike Buse and Kevin Brenton took second place, with Matthew Mills and Dennis Brown close behind on 63 points.  4th place  went to Martin Rickard and Richard Lawrence, 5th to Dave Derry and Nigel Buse, 6th to John Paul and Rob Cook, and 7th place was taken by Dave Flew and Shane Dingle.  Well done to all.
