First the good news ! Joe Cruse playing with fellow county player Tom Fox has got through to the last sixteen of this tournament. They played twice yesterday; in the morning comfortably beating Simpson and Ayre from the Winsome Hall Golf Club despite conceding 5 shots under the unique Sunningdale handicapping system. In the afternoon things were much tighter and the full 18 holes were neccessary for them to overcome Shinkwin and Wallace from Moor Park GC 1 up. Today they have a very tough match against experienced PGA Tour veterans in Andrew Sherborne and Andrew Oldcorn.

The latter pair were responsible for ending the hopes of Mark Justice and Lisa McGowan and whom they beat 1up. The same pair also beat Justice and McGowan a couple of years ago in this same tournament.

Antony Nash and Bethan Popel went one better by winning in the morning 3&1; a round which included an eagle 2 on the 17th when Antony holed out from 171 yds with a 7 iron ! They then also lost to Oldcorn and Sherborne 3&2 in the third round.
