Men's "Mail on Sunday" Results

Published: 19th June 2012

St Enodoc march on in the "Mail on Sunday" tournament after beating Fingle Glen at St Enodoc which was battered by gale force winds and heavy blustery showers.  Fingle Glen players having not played St Enodoc before found the going tough.

Young Sam Jarvis, out first, played steady golf and with veteran caddy Kenton Williams at his side managed a very good win against Paul Stevens 3 & 2.  John Paul was next and with the help of his caddy, reserve player Rich Matheron, beat Ben Andrews 2 & 1.  Andy Bunt dropping very few shots against one handicapper James Urquhart pulled off a significant win 4 & 2.  Joe Combellack another junior was one down after nine holes against a very good Luke Burchell, he then changed gear on the back nine and went on to win 4 & 2.  Anchor man Rob Davies did just that, played very steady golf in horrendous conditions to overcome Fingle Glen team captain Jamie Hoskins on the 16th, winning 4 & 2.

St Enodoc have now reached the last 32 teams in the tournament and very much look forward to the next round in July, team and venue to be advised.
