Men's Invitation Day

Winners Martin Gargan, Captain John Baxter and guest Colin Nolan

Members’ guests must have thought they had come to the Riviera on Sunday when they arrived for the annual Men’s Invitation Day on the Church Course. The sky was blue, the sea aquamarine and the course was perfect. 38 pairs competed on the day in absolutely ideal conditions.

The players moved around the course at a good pace and came in to enjoy the last round of The Open on a big screen TV with their meal. What could be better?

The winners on the day were Martin Gargan and his guest Colin Nolan from Torquay with a very tidy score of 41 points.

Second place was Kevin Richards and P Cowls with 40 points, winning on countback over Mike Jarvis and Paul Ezard from Saunton.  Mr Ezard was a bit special on the day with two 2’s and Nearest the Pin on the 11th(6 inches!).

4th Place was won by Peter George and his guest F Giles with 39 points and 5th Place was Andy Bunt and A Hardy on 38 points, winning on countback.

A most enjoyable day was had by all.
