Men's Friendly Match v Burnham & Berrow

The annual friendly match against Burnham & Berrow took place on Sunday, 27th July at St Enodoc, format for the day was better ball match play. This is a great fixture between these two old clubs, both founded in 1890 and therefore both will be celebrating their 125th anniversary in 2015.

Team Captain, Mike Buse with partner Rob Cook set the example by winning 4 & 3 against Burnham’s Captain Harvey Sampson and his partner Trevor Hicks. Rob was on top form just one over at the end of the match. This set the scene for the remaining matches, results as follows:-

Steve Buse and Kevin Francis beat Rick Metcalf and Mike Tilly - 1 up
John Paul and Rex Molloy beat Peter Yenson and Paul John - 7 & 6
Andy Bunt and Nigel Buse beat Nick Bunn and Adrian Beaumont – 1 up
Joe Combellack and Richard Matheron beat Steve Mercer and George King – 2 & 1

Mike thanked the bar and catering staff for their excellent service and food and also thanked Scott Gibson and his team for continually producing an excellent golf course for us all to enjoy.
