Thirteen is considered an unlucky number for some but not for St. Enodoc. The year 2000 was the last time the Club won the Maxam Cup.

The testing Trevose track utilising a mix of white and blue tees assisted by a strong gusting wind made life a little difficult yesterday for the players representing sixteen Cornish clubs. The Maxam cup is a 36 hole foursomes medal team competition played off scratch with the top two scores to count; teams consist of three pairs.

Steve Chapman partnering Joe Cruse posted a score of 152. Rob Davies and debutant Josh Walsh posted a score of 146 with Steve Buse and Robbie Moore posting a score of 161. The best team total of 297 saw St. Enodoc take the honours pushing West Cornwall on 305 into second place with Perranporth finishing 3rd, also with a score of 305. The icing on the cake was Rob Davies and Josh Walsh taking the top pairing honour with a score of 146.
