St Enodoc Assistant Pro Mark Arrowsmith and his partner St Enodoc member Mark Justice have been drawn against Irish Ryder Cup star Paul McGinley and Alison McGinley in the first round of the prestigious Sunningdale Foursomes starting at the Surrey golf club on Tuesday, 13th March 2012.  Immediately following them in the next match will be St. Enodoc members Katie Rule (pictured below) and her partner Antony Nash.  In last year's competition St. Enodoc Life Member and English Amateur Champion, Scott Godfrey, reached the final with his partner Hayley Davis. The handicap rules for this competition are unusual;  all male professionals play off plus 1, all male amateurs play off scratch and all lady amateurs play off minus 4.  Thus Arrowsmith and Justice will concede three shots to the McGinley's, whilst Rule and Nash will receive six shots in their match against professionals J. Harris and T. Adcock from the Nevill Golf Club. Uniquely for foursomes match play the games are played off full handicap difference. If both St. Enodoc pairs are successful in the first two rounds they will then play each other in the third round.
