A note from the Club Captain

My thanks to all the members who have supported the Captain's charity over the past 18 months. In that time the club has raised around £17,000 for the Cove. This week I went down there to present a cheque for £6,225 to Emma Wright, the Cornwall fundraising manager. When I went down a year ago with the first cheque the foundations were just being laid. Now it is complete. Emma showed me round this amazing building to which the final touches were being made. It is bright and uplifting with rooms for counselling, alternative therapies, space just to sit and be or talk, and a special room for the teenagers.
As you enter there in front of you is a glass panel engraved with all the contributors to the appeal, halfway down there is St Enodoc Golf Club. It opens for business on Monday, if you wish to help they are still looking for volunteers to be meeters and greeters, serve tea and coffee etc.
So once again a big thank you from me and from Emma Wright and Macmillan Cancer Care team.
