Long drive to Bude ends in disappointment

Published: 7th July 2016

The Seniors made their way up the A39 to Bude to begin the 2016 challenge for the 'Commings Putter' Trophy. Under clearing skies and with a stiff breeze blowing the pairs set out full of optimism for an away win. Despite a valiant effort by everyone, this was not to be, with the only win for St. Enodoc being secured by Steve Smith and Bill Hughes.

Despite the loss, the match was played in the usual good spirit and friendly manner for which such matches are renowned.  Special thanks and congratulations must, without doubt, go to John Bower who turned out for the team on his 41st wedding anniversary – brave man !

We look forward to the home match in September in the hope of securing a comfortable win sufficient enough to retain the trophy.
