Ladies League Match success

Published: 31st March 2017

Winning ways continued on Thursday 30th March against Newquay at Home. There are no easy fixtures in Division 1 and the team were prepared for a hard match. This was soon made harder when Penny Cartwright had a nasty fall and had to retire after the third hole, forfeiting the match having had a strong start and being 3 up! We wish Penny a speedy recovery.

Playing conditions were dry but windy (so what’s new!) and the remaining players had to dig deep against their opponents. In the end it came down to ‘Pocket Rocket’ Cath Buscombe to bring in the final point at the back of the field with everyone watching anxiously from the clubhouse – no pressure Cath! The end result was exactly what Ladies’ Captain Tamsin Blake hoped to see and she thanks all players for the great team spirit which saw them through the day and brought in an excellent win for St Enodoc.

It was an enjoyable and closely contested match, although a bit tense if you were watching from the sidelines!
