Ladies League Match Report

Published: 9th June 2017

The Ladies League Team began their series of away matches at Launceston on Wednesday 7th June. Fortunately they managed to find a convenient gap in the otherwise awful weather seen of late and playing conditions, if a bit damp underfoot, were dry and breezy.

Having played and lost against the Launceston team the previous Sunday in the Gammon competition, the team were keen to put things right on this occasion. Launceston fielded a strong team as always and most of the matches were very tight throughout. Penny Cartwright and Jan Harrison were meeting for the third time this season and on this occasion Penny prevailed to win their mini series 2-1!

The St Enodoc team managed to clinch wins on the 18th in two matches and closed out two other matches a little earlier to come away with the win 4-3. Well done to rookie team member Catherine Kromholc on winning her first match.

Well played to the team for achieving a great away win and putting our League campaign back on track. Some more tricky away fixtures to come, but with team work like this we’re definitely up to the task!
