Ladies June Open

The Ladies June Open was held on Tuesday 21st and after a few days of wet weather everyone was relieved to play on a dry and ultimately sunny day. The visiting ladies were treated to coffee and cake on arrival, providing much needed energy to tackle the course which is always a challenge at this time of year. There were many compliments about the condition of the course from the players on returning to the clubhouse.

An excellent meal awaited everyone in the dining room which was followed by the prize giving by Ladies Captain Annie Cruse and her Vice Captain Tamsin Blake. Annie thanked everyone for their participation and also thanked her committee for their support with the event, in particular Penny Cartwright and Trudy Tremain for the beautiful prize table.

The scores for the main prizes were very close, with the top teams only separated by 4 points, and the 3rd, 4th & 5th prizes being decided on count back with just one point between each team on the back nine.

Winning team member Sue Phillips thanked Annie Cruse for the warm welcome extended to all the ladies and said how much her team had enjoyed playing the course.
