The first club championships weekend took place on the 17th & 18th September with both days being played in lovely September weather on a course in fantastic condition. 11 Ladies participated in the competition in a medal format of 36 holes over 2 days. For those who didn’t fare well on day 1 there was a chance to go for the most improved player prize on day 2 and for those who posted a good score on Saturday it was a case of maintaining their form for another 18 holes.

This was the first occasion that the club has held a championship weekend with both the Men and Ladies competitions being played on the church course and a mixed greensomes being played on the Holywell course on Sunday. This resulted in a healthy number of members in the clubhouse for the prize giving which was a great improvement on recent years and it is hoped this will be the case again next year, with perhaps some more slight tweaks to the timings on Sunday.

Congratulations to Kath Biddle on winning the Championship for the first time having had a summer of runner up positions.
