This annual fun competition was held on Saturday 12th December with all the competitors arriving in good spirits and wearing a fine array of Christmas Jumpers, headwear and one particularly fine Elf outfit which we believe concealed a certain Annie Matthews!

Conditions for the 4 ball better ball competition were a little challenging but the teams appeared to manage admirably in finding 2 scores to count on each hole. If any were struggling they soon perked up when they arrived at the 8th tee to find Santa and his Elf (aka Bob Cruse & Richard Blake) offering a super spread of goodies and a little tot of something to loosen up their swing.

Back at the clubhouse the players were greeted by Ladies Captain Annie Cruse and then enjoyed an excellent traditional Christmas turkey meal with all the trimmings, all the while dodging the flying balloons being regularly launched by balloon master Di Mindel and her chums!

Annie Cruse thanked the team captains of the day and involved everyone in a little memory activity in keeping with the theme of her chosen charity for the year, Memory Matters South West. This was followed by the car park draw which was won by Kay Copleston and the award for the most impressive headwear which was worn by the team of Di Dingle, Beth Elliot, Rose Jones & Judy Redman.
