Ladies brave the rain

Published: 28th January 2012

The first Roworth Salver of 2012 was played on Sunday 22nd January and Rhiannon Rich found excellent form to come in with 36 points and cut her handicap to 25. Both Sue Roworth and Sue Willmott scored 32 points with Sue Roworth coming second on countback. On Tuesday 24th January many St Enodoc Ladies were unsure whether to venture on to the courses with leaden skies all around. However, as the weather appeared to clear, quite a few pairs played on both courses in a stableford foursomes competition. Despite their positive attitudes the rain unfortunately returned well before anyone had completed their round. On the Holywell Course some great scores came in with Mary Killingley and Tereen Oliver coming first on countback from Dot Frewin and Jean Nicholls, both scoring 38 points. On the Church Course Janine Clagett and Annie Hawkey were the winners with 31 points followed closely by Jax Buse and Di Dingle with 30 points. On Sunday 29th St Enodoc are looking forward to playing in the first round of the Mail on Sunday competition at home against the ladies of Roserrow.
