The St Enodoc Ladies AGM was held on Tuesday 4th November. Ladies Captain Jax Buse reviewed some of the highlights of the past year which included:

  • A second place in League Division Two guaranteeing a return to the top flight for St Enodoc in 2015

  • A splendid trip to The Vale, near Cardiff and closer to home, an enjoyable Captain’s Away Day at Trethorne

  • St Enodoc having the privilege of hosting The English Women’s Amateur Championship in July

  • Raising £3,754.88 for The Cornwall Food Foundation thanks to the generosity of our members

Jax thanked everyone who has helped her during the year and was presented with a leaving gift from new Ladies Captain, Trudie Tensjo.

Trudie began her term of office with a confession. At the age of 10 years, along with a friend, they were out riding on their ponies at Polzeath and in order to return home before dark they took a shortcut not only across the 11th fairway but also straight over the 10th green! In all the years of playing golf at St Enodoc she has only ever had one birdie on the 10th hole and this may be the reason why…

Trudie announced her chosen charity to be The Chris Treglown Foundation Fund. Chris was a local Cornish boy, hugely talented and just about to break onto the London musical scene when he was tragically killed in a car crash. The Foundation is in memory of Chris who never had the chance to pursue his dream. The Fund now makes it possible for many young children who are musically talented in Cornwall to develop and make their dreams come true.

Trudie emphasized how much she is looking forward to her year as Ladies’ Captain, she is happy to hear new ideas from members and will endeavour to represent the Ladies and the golf club to the very best of her ability. She is keen to guide our teams to success in County Competitions in 2015 and is delighted that St Enodoc are hosting the County Championships in April. Trudie will be ably supported this year by Vice Captain Annie Cruse and the Ladies’ Committee including new members, Sue Kingston and Trudy Tremain.
Before closing the meeting, the new Ladies’ Captain announced that the members attending the AGM had voted in favour of changing their team colours to the club colours which are black and white.

After the presentation of all the cups and trophies, members enjoyed canapes and wine.
