Junior Academy first Bolitho match of the year

Published: 30th June 2014

Youngsters involved in any sport have to cope with the ups and downs of that particular activity. Golf is no exception and unfortunately our Junior Academy team have to come to terms with the 'mauling' they received when they played their Bolitho match at Lanhydrock on Sunday.

The course itself was perfectly presented and although playing one short the team were indeed positive with Morgan Craven and Lucy Williams making their debuts. Joe Combellack and Sam Jarvis had to be on their toes from the start with Joe giving 6 shots and Sam giving 10. Unfortunately their opponents, Jake Alcock and Jacob Turner were  in top form both winning handsomely. Our debutant, 11 year old Morgan had to give 3 shots and his opponent Josh Galvin won 5 and 4. Our junior captain Rhiannon Rich battled on but she too faced an in form Callum Tully who ran out the  eventual winner. Lucy Williams played in the last match but she too lost her match to Tom Crowe. The return match at St. Enodoc is on Friday 11th July. Hopefully the team will have to learn how to cope with the 'ups; of the sport!!!!
