Three weeks ago the Club were delighted to welcome as a new Member Josh Walsh. Josh a +1 handicapper joined from Thurlestone in South Devon (so golf in the wind will be no problem for him). Josh joined together with twin brother Ollie - a 3 handicapper. The Walsh connection with Thurlestone goes back a long way and where Josh and Ollie's grandfather was a Member.

Josh, who is nineteen, will next week play, along with 288 others, in the English Mens Amateur Championship at Frilford Heath. Josh played in this event at Silloth last year with two solid rounds of medal golf and which were good enough to get him into the last 64 and knock out stages.

Frilford Heath is probably Oxfordshire's finest golf club, and one of the best in the south of England. Along with Woburn and Wentworth, it is one of very few clubs with three championship standard golf courses - 54 holes of top quality golf!

On Monday 29th July Josh, with his Father on the bag, tees off at 0910 and on Tuesday at 1340. The website will bring you details of his progress. Good luck Josh !
