On a day when all sailing racing was cancelled because of high winds 14 intrepid pairs contested the third playing of the 36 hole Stableford Foursomes; this notoriously difficult format was at least played in bright sunshine. The Cleek – an old club- was presented by the James Braid Society to the St Enodoc four years ago on their visit here and each year the competition has attracted an increased field and coupled with an excellent lunch between rounds the atmosphere is always very relaxed.

In the windy condition one of the longest hitters Martin Gargan was seen playing a knockdown driver at the 168 yard 15th. With scoring hard we had very worthy winners in late entries John Burrell partnered by one of our Juniors Sam McCloskey who as can be seen won by 9 points - a really creditable effort, the prizewinners were:-

1. John Burrell and Sam McCloskey 69 pts
2. Geoff Jones and Martin Gargan 60 pts
3. Malcolm Cole and Nick Clarke 59 pts
