Irrigation Work on Church Course

Published: 8th December 2011

Beginning 12th December we are replacing the green surround irrigation heads on 10 holes of the Church Course. One hole will be out of play each day for approximately 12 days.

We will be using temporary pins wherever possible to keep the par 4’s/5’s in play. Par 3’s will be out of play on the day they are renewed.

In 2002 when major irrigation works were done on the Church Course the greens sprinklers were not renewed. We are now addressing that issue and the result will be better coverage with new ‘valve in head’ technology. This will allow the removal of the large valve boxes and will hopefully result in better results with less water.

The plan is for 10 holes to be done this winter and the remaining 8 holes next year. This year the holes to the west of Brea Road will be done – 1,2,5,6,7,8,9,16,17 &18. The installation process will be with a mole plow so any disturbance to the course should be minimal.

We apologise for any inconvenience.
