Hot weather and hotter scoring for the Ladies

Published: 29th July 2013

Sue Roworth was the winner of the Medal Competition played on the Church Course on Sunday 21st July with a nett 83. On Tuesday 23rd July, golf bags were considerably lighter as the competition format only allowed a maximum of six clubs to be used. There were difficult decisions and dilemmas for players as they pondered whether a hybrid or a long iron would be up to the task plus would they find numerous bunkers if they left the sand wedge behind?

Once again there were some excellent scores and the following players proved that a full set of clubs isn’t always necessary.
Church Course – Division 1

1st Sue Roworth 40 points
2nd Trudy Tremain 38 points

Church Course – Division 2
1st Edna Alford 37 points
2nd Bobbie Rounsevell 34 points

Holywell Course
1st Sarah Harris 48 points
2nd Mary Killingly 45 points
