Holywell Seniors Activity

Published: 31st January 2015

During this last spell of unpleasant meteorological phenomena there have been some signs of continuing interest in golf among those Seniors who regularly play the Holywell. I'll give you a couple of for instances.

The second round of the winter eclectic was played in blustery but fairly dry conditions and some notable improvements were made. Tom Lehan roared into the lead with an 8 shot jump while Derek Kingsbury only managed 5. Bill Lugg and David Balmford both achieved very creditable 13 shot upgrades. When you think about it this only reflects adversely on the quality of their previous round!

The 26th of January saw a good turn out for the Stableford on a not too pleasant day, as reflected in the scoring. All credit to David Girling with a good 34 points and Derek Kingsbury with 33. Thereafter scoring fell away rather rapidly; full results for both events are on the notice board.

The next Eclectic is on Feb 16th followed by another Stableford on 23rd. Let's hope (Nay, even pray) for some better conditions.
