Holywell Seniors

I knew it wasn't going to be my day when my drive hit the direction post on the first and came back 30 yards. Four putts on the second and more three putts than I care to record, did nothing to improve my mood. It was a glorious afternoon however so the only thing to do was to lie back and enjoy it, We have been very lucky with the weather on Mondays and Fridays so far this year (he said touching wood); only once have we been rained off and that was just a stableford!

Some very notable strokes have been recorded recently and I'm not referring to Dermott Studd's drives. Bill Lugg carded a net 0 at the 15th and Roger Priestley produced 42 points in the last Stableford. Both have had recent handicap cuts!

The Winter Eclectic is reaching an exciting climax. David Balmford leads the way both net and gross for the last round climax but the hot money is on Bill Lugg who, only just behind (net), has much the best chance of improvements. Messrs Kingsbury, Godwin, Lawton and Studd also have realistic chances of high prizes. The last round is to be played on 26th March and the presentation will take place following the next Stableford after that round.
