Teams taking part – St. Enodoc, Launceston, Mullion, Cornish Captains, Nomads

(missing were Perranporth and West Cornwall)

Harry was an honorary member of these clubs who play annually in his memory. The format is eight players per team split into pairs playing a better ball stableford with an aggregate of the pairs scores for each team deciding the winner.

St Enodoc were represented by Mike Buse and Nigel Buse with a score of 37 points which picked up 3rd prize on countback.

Andy Bunt and Shaun Hawken – 36 point

Steve Buse and Mark Meneer – 36 points

John Paul and Kevin Francis – 30 points

These score resulted in a tie with Launceston for first place and it was agreed to share the trophy for six months each. This trophy consists of Gook’s fluking iron which is mounted on a suitable board.

Hugh Christopher paid tribute to Harry’s golfing achievements including his county championship in 1969. Mike Buse thanked the Launceston Captain and members for their hospitality and for providing everyone with a course in good condition.

One of Gook’s sayings was, ‘Buse, if the ball was meant to fly that high it would have wings on it!’
