On Sunday 14th August the Hoskin Cup was played in pleasant conditions on the Church Course.  The winner of the cup, with a net 73, was Sue Willmott who has continued her purple patch following her trip to Carnoustie and winning the Richard Beaven and the runner-up on Net 76 was Mary Rayment.

A EWGA Medal was played on the Church Course on Tuesday 16th August.  Despite the threat of continuing rain, we were pleasantly surprised as the rain cleared and conditions improved considerably.  There were some great scores in Division 1 with Penny Moon reducing her handicap from 19 to 17 with a net score of 70.  Jan Derry followed her closely with a net 71 and cut her handicap to 13 from 14.  Annie Hawkey was third with a net 75.

In Division 2 Marie de Boer had a creditable Net 73 reducing her handicap from 21 to 20 despite not playing for many months. In Second place was Sue F Jones with a net 78 and Lynn Ashcroft was Third with a net 78 on countback.  A Medal was also played on the Holywell Course which was won by Gill Goodright with a Net 62.  In second was Annie Matthews with a Net 64.
