Our Gammon Team travelled to Launceston to play their first round match against Newquay on Sunday 5th June. It turned out to be a beautifully bright and sunny day and there were some fantastic performances from players on both teams. All of the matches were closely contested and with the scores level at 3-3, the overall result hinged on the outcome of the final match out on the course. Sally Stacey edged ahead thanks to some accurate putting and held her nerve in the closing stages to secure a place in the second round for the Newquay team.
