On Saturday 27th May the club played host to An Evening with the Fisherman’s Friends as a fund raiser for the Ladies’ Captain’s Charity, Active8. This is a small charity working with Cornish young people who are physically disabled. The charity works to assist the youngsters with their autonomy, confidence, life skills and aspirations. More information can be found by visiting their website www.active8online.org

The Fisherman’s Friends performed 2 live sets for the lucky 100 or so members and their guests and there was a certain amount of banter involved as well from Jon Cleave and the other buoys. A number of the young people from Active8 were also there and joined the boys in a sing song at the end of the evening. More pictures and video of the evening can be found on the club’s Facebook page.

The raffle and Auction were very generously supported and in total the evening raised £2087. Many thanks to all who attended and emptied their pockets willingly!
