English Amateur Championships Day 2

Published: 29th July 2014

Day 2 of the English Amateur Championship continued in a very similar manner to Day 1 with Josh Walsh having a second round of 75 to finish on 8 over Par in a tie for 97th place in the field of 288 competitors, a very creditable result and well done Josh. Standout Cornishmen again was young Harry Hall from West Cornwall who followed up his first round 2 under on the West Course with a 1 under on the harder East course to finish this part of the event in a tie for third place which means he moves forward into the Match play section of the event for the top 32 players well seeded.

The other two Cornish boys were Adam Curtis from Bude who had a second 77 to finsh on 12 over and Conor Wilson from Perranporth who finished on 14 over. All Cornwall is behind you Harry and best of luck; remember that the last time the event was held at Saunton in 2001 it was a Cornish winner in our own Scott Godfrey.
