Congratulations to the England Girls who won the Home Internationals after a punishing three days of match play golf with Foursomes in the morning followed by Singles in the afternoon. For the last few years the coach of the England Under 18s side has been our very own Scott Godfrey who is based as Professional at Ferndown. Scott's reputation as a coach continues to grow having been very much responsible for the success of Hayley Davis and he must take considerable credit for the team's success this week.

Mention must also be made of Emma Allen (Meon Valley) who had the heartache the week before at the English Ladies Stroke Play Championship of seeing what looked like an unassailable lead slip from her grasp. This week, having put the bitter disappointment behind her, has been very different with 6 matches and 6 wins in 3 days, well done Emma who is off to College in the United States very soon. The beneficiary of Emma's misfortune last week was Carlyon Bay's Emily Toy who was also in the successful winning team.

English Ladies golf has a bright future with golf at this standard in the Under 18s and Scott must take his share of the glory; well done gilrs and well done Scotty.
